Every site prices differently, so we give you a number after we see it. Price comes down to the size of the area and how much dirt has to move. What areas do you cover?
Clarksville and Montgomery County are home ground, and we work there most days. From Woodlawn we travel about 60 miles out, west to Dover and Cumberland City. South and east we cover Ashland City, Pleasant View, Springfield, Dickson, Nashville, and Fairview. Franklin is the far end of the range, so check the towns we cover for the full list.
What does excavation include?
Excavation is the dirt work under a project. We dig footings and foundations, cut and fill a lot to grade, and build up house and shop pads. We also dig for septic systems and utility lines, and move dirt around the site. On most jobs it runs together with clearing, grading, and driveway work.
Should I get land clearing or forestry mulching?
It depends on what you want left behind. Land clearing takes the trees, brush, and stumps off the lot and leaves open ground to build on. Forestry mulching grinds brush and small trees in place and leaves the chips on the ground as cover. Mulching fits fence lines, trails, and overgrown pasture, while clearing fits a build site that needs a pad.
Do I need a permit, and who calls 811?
Permits are usually pulled by the property owner or the builder, and we work to the approved plans. Before we dig we contact Tennessee 811, the free call before you dig service. It needs three working days to get buried lines marked. Jobs that disturb an acre or more fall under Tennessee's construction stormwater permit, where erosion control measures come in.
Does rain stop the work?
Middle Tennessee gets around 50 inches of rain a year, and the clay here holds water. Wet clay turns to mud and slows equipment. Heavy dirt work waits a few days for the ground to dry, and we keep you posted. Mulching and clearing can often run on ground that is too soft for finish grading.
Do you work with builders and general contractors?
Yes, a lot of our work comes from builders and general contractors. We handle the clearing, the pad, the driveway, and the utility trenches on house builds and commercial buildings. We work off the plan set and shoot elevations with a grade laser. Then we get off the site so the next trade can start.
What happens on the day you start?
Equipment comes in on the set date and we start where the plan says. We keep an access route open and stage material where it will not be in the way. You can reach us on the same number through the whole job. We go over the finished work with you before we pull out.
