Our Services

Excavation and Land Clearing Services in Woodlawn, TN

Dirt work, clearing, mulching, roads, and drainage for homes, farms, builders, and commercial jobs around Clarksville.

Most jobs start with ground that has to change. Sometimes trees and brush have to come off a lot before the pad gets cut. Other times the yard holds water and needs a drain. Pick the service that fits your property, or see photos of our own jobs.

Forestry Mulching

Overgrown brush ground into mulch where it stands

Site Prep and Grading

Dirt work that leaves your lot level and draining

We handle the dirt work before a build: building pads, cut and fill, rough and finish grading, and driveway cuts. The ground ends up level where it should be and sloped so water leaves the site.

  • Rough grading and finish grading on new builds and existing lots
  • Building pads cut and packed for houses, shops, barns, and additions
  • Cut and fill work that levels sloped ground using dirt already on site
  • Lot grading that slopes the ground away from the foundation
  • Driveway cuts and the dirt work under a new drive
  • Grade lasers to set elevations and check the finished grade

Gravel Driveways and Roads

Roads built to carry loaded trucks and equipment

We build new gravel driveways, farm roads and access roads across Montgomery County and out toward Nashville. The road bed gets cut and stoned, then crowned so water sheds off instead of standing in the tracks.

  • New gravel driveways for houses, cabins and rural lots
  • Farm roads and field access through pasture and timber
  • Construction site entrances and haul roads for job sites
  • Timber and logging roads built for loaded log trucks
  • Road bed cut, stripped of topsoil and compacted before stone
  • Base rock and top gravel placed in layers and packed

Erosion Control

Keeping soil in place when the rain comes hard

We install erosion control measures that keep soil on site and out of the ditch. Wilson Forestry and Excavating is an approved erosion control contractor with TDEC.

  • Silt fence set along the low side of a site to catch sediment
  • Rock check dams in ditches to slow water before it cuts
  • Stabilized construction entrances so mud stays off the public road
  • Riprap at pipe outlets where fast water hits bare dirt
  • Diversions and slope shaping so runoff leaves at a safe speed
  • Seeding and matting to hold bare ground after the dirt work

French Drains

We give standing water a path away from the house

Water standing in the yard or against the house needs a way out. We regrade the ground and put in French drains and pipe that carry it off.

  • French drain installation along foundations, in wet yard areas, and at the bottom of slopes
  • Foundation drains that catch water before it reaches the wall
  • Regrading the ground so the yard falls away from the house
  • Perforated drainage pipe set in washed stone and wrapped in filter fabric
  • Solid pipe runs that carry water out to a ditch or a lower part of the lot
  • Swales shaped to move surface water around the house
